A Brief History of BHNC
Martha Chick founded the women’s club BHNC on Nov. 1, 1950, as a way for newcomers to feel welcome to the community. She personally visited each newcomer with a warm welcome and a basket of goodies, Martha welcomed approximately 12,000 to the community over 25 years. Of that number, nearly 5,000 became members of BHNC. Women dropped membership when they moved or took full time jobs. In 1975 there were 700 members. There were 40 activity groups ranging in interest from the study of antiques to gardening, investments, tennis, and wine tasting.
On November 8, 1975 members celebrated the 25th anniversary with a dinner dance at the St Francis Yacht Club.
We will vote on the 2025-26 slate of officers at the May luncheon.
The nominating committee members have put together a slate of outstanding ladies for the elected positions of BHNC for '25-'26. They are listed in the newsletter. Nominations may also be entertained from the floor.
We will vote on revisions to the bylaws.
The Board has made a few minor revisions to our bylaws focused on dues and the composition of the Executive Board. See the newsletter for the suggested bylaw revisions.
It’s time to renew your membership.
Dues for the upcoming year will remain at $60. There are two ways to renew: online at mybhnc.org or by sending a check to BHNC, PO Box 127, Burlingame, CA 94011.

Do you know how to play American Mah Jongg?
Bring your card and join us Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Burlingame Rec. Center. No RSVP required.
MULTIGENERATIONAL GROUP: NEW!
Share stories and engage in activities with people at different stages and ages in life. Mothers and grandmothers can bring their daughters and grandkids. Stay tuned for a meet up.
